The Naumburg Foundation mourns the loss of Joel Krosnick who passed away on April 15, 2025.
Joel's artistry was unique. He was a member of the Juilliard Quartet for 42 years and an inspirational teacher to generations of young cellists and chamber musicians.
Joel's life in music had a profound effect on the chamber music world and he will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate to know him both as a person and as an artist. Joel was also a longtime supporter and board member of Naumburg. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his wife Dinah, daughter Gwen and son Josh.
Naumburg will be dedicating our 2025 Chamber Music Competition in his honor.
